Andrew Wareham was born in 1946 to agricultural working-class parents in Hampshire, a few miles from Eastleigh. After passing into grammar school he achieved a place in the first intake into the University of Kent, taking a degree in Politics and Government with Economics and Economic History Part One. He dropped out after graduating and became a teacher four years later, marrying soon after. In 1976 he took a first contract in Papua New Guinea, returning to teaching in England in 1979 in King’s Lynn.
During his years in King’s Lynn he was active as a constituency chairman in the newly formed SDP. In 1985 he left teaching to work with the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, remaining with them as a trainer and operational policeman for nearly ten years Leaving PNG, he took contracts in Saudi Arabia and Libya and began writing in his spare time.
When his wife became terminally ill, he returned to UK and worked in anything other than teaching. He kept up the writing and began making a base for his family. Sadly, his wife died in 2003 and he stayed in UK, working mostly in Security and continuing to write historical fiction.
In 2013 he sought out a reputable e-publisher, and was supported and encouraged by the expertise of The Electronic Book Company, whose committed and professional collaboration with all things related to his books, gave him a distinct advantage in an increasingly competitive environment. Within 3 years his sales were high enough to allow him to write full-time. With the Company's help, this prolific and respected has published over 50 novels and has more waiting to be written.
He lives in Corby with his son and daughter and a collection of giant breed dogs, including St Bernards. Most of his existence is spent at the keyboard, but he manages to find the time to collect English pressed glass and recently, to attend meetings of the Corby Creative Minds Writing Group, whose collective experiences are appreciated.
Now in his 70s, Andrew’s ambition is to live long enough to top one hundred novels.
